For Such A Time

This season has brought on a lot of reflection. I’ve wondered what if my life where different. What if I had kids during this season? What if I worked a different job? There would be a whole new set of concerns occupying my mind. It’s important to remember that God is an ever caring Father. He knows exactly what we can handle. God put of us in this time in history to bring about His purposes in our lives.

There’s a heroine in the Bible who was made queen for such a time as this. God elevated her to the position from that of a lowly, orphan girl. His favor caused her to stand out to the king. Then came the persecution. Jealousy caused Haman to target the Jews. They were doomed to be killed on a specific day of the year. Esther was their only hope of escape. Up until this point, she was living a life of luxury as no one knew her as a poor, Jewish girl. To speak on behalf of her people was dangerous for it would out her as a Jew. It was also against the law to appear before the king without being summoned by him. Mordecai, her uncle, reminded her that God placed her into this position for this moment. He equipped her with the tools needed in order to save the Jews. With prayer and fasting, she boldly stepped into her purpose.

So, what does this season look like for you? Maybe you’re a new mother navigating raising a child without the help of family and close friends. Maybe you lost your job and having to trust God with your daily bread. Maybe you’re coming to the end of college but the future looks unclear. Don’t get discouraged. God knew exactly what you could handle in this season. Instead of focusing on the negative, choose to focus on God. What is He trying to teach you in this? We are all going through this pandemic, but in different ways. Rest assured that God has equipped you with the tools needed to come out on top. He is setting you up for something great. He chose you for such a time as this so that He could bring about His purposes to a hurting world.

Be encouraged!

Scripture References: Esther 4:13-16 (NLT) “Mordecai sent this reply to Esther: Don’t think for a moment that because you’re in the palace you will escape when all other Jews are killed. If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this? Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: Go and gather together all the Jews of Susa and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will do the same. And then, though it is against the law, I will go in to see the king. If I must die, I must die.”
