God's Plan

You may be asking yourself what God wants to do through the church during these uncertain times. So many stated that Jesus is coming back sooner than we think. But our concept of time and God’s concept of time are two entirely different things. He could come back for His church tomorrow or He could return fifty years from now. We are to occupy until He comes. But what does that look like? We must first understand God’s plan so that we can bring it to pass in the world around us.

In Ephesians, Paul is speaking to the Gentiles about God’s plan. He breaks it down into two parts.

The first aspect of His plan is to create a family. God wanted to unite two nations, the Jews and the Gentiles, into one body through the sacrifice of Jesus. The Jews were God’s chosen people as a result of the promises He made to Abraham. When Jesus came He brought the rest of us (Gentiles) into the family and thereby made us heirs of the promises. There was no more exclusion or partiality. Anyone could come to God and be accepted by Him. As His children, He expects the same from us. There is no superior race. We are united in Christ. By loving each other and walking in unity, we showcase Jesus to a hurting world. They become curious about a God who brings people of all races, backgrounds, and social economic statuses together.

The second part of God’s plan is to show Himself strong to the powers and principalities in the earth through His church. I know that was a mouthful but let’s break that statement down. The devil would love nothing more than to wreak havoc in the world. The Bible speaks of principalities and powers that are at work in specific regions (see Daniel 10:12-14, 20). These entities seek to influence what happens within that area. As Christians, we have authority in Christ Jesus. We can bring the atmosphere of heaven into our workplace, homes, and communities. We can speak peace when the devil tries to stir up strife. We can proclaim healing and wellness when he tries to afflict with sickness. God loves showing Himself strong. When we take our authority in Jesus, we allow God to work through us and bring about His purposes in our city.

In summary, God wants us to be an active participant in His plan during these last days. We can show love to our brothers and sisters in Christ despite their race or status. Our unity is a testament to His work in our lives. Also, we can take a stand. Our prayers have so much power! We can resist the devil, and speak the Word of God over our communities. In doing so, we will reach more people for Christ. They will see our good works and glorify our Father who is in heaven. So, are you willing to be a part of God’s plan?

Be encouraged! 😊

Scripture References: Ephesians 3: 6,10-11 (NLT) “And this is God’s plan: Both Gentiles and Jews who believe the Good News share equally in the riches inherited by God’s children. Both are part of the same body, and both enjoy the promise of blessings because they belong to Christ Jesus. God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Luke 19:12-13 “He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.”
