It Is For Me

Can you stand more good news? If so, I want to testify of the goodness of the Lord. Last November, I felt in my Spirit that the Lord was taking me through a season of trust. Oh boy did that prove true. I already wrote about my quest to find a job. (If you haven’t already, then take a moment to read my previous post.) Many of us heard the saying, “What God has for me, it is for me”. The phrase is so familiar, that I assumed it was a scripture in the Bible. I experienced this saying firsthand in my search for a new house.

A week after accepting my new job, I began my search. I set a budget and wrote out my must have list. Knowing the current real estate market, I decided to find a home before putting mine up for sale. Weekend after weekend, my mom, sisters, and I loaded up the car to look at potential homes. Each trip proved successful as I submitted offers for my favorite ones. Then came the all too familiar feeling of rejection. Offer after offer was denied for a more competitive ones. We soon learned that the market in Raleigh was fast-paced and aggressive. Buyers were offering well over tax value and depositing large amounts for the down payment. On top of this, my house wasn’t even on the market. These factors caused sellers to be extra cautious in accepting my offer. Week after week ticked by. I needed to find a home quickly as my start date approached for my new job.

Finally, I found the perfect house. It featured more than I pictured in my mind. The town home had an open concept floor plan, updated fixtures and appliances, and a yard for my dog. The neighborhood was safe, and it was within a reasonable distance to my job. Immediately after falling in love, I submitted my best offer. Instead of rejecting the offer, the seller expressed concern over my house not being sold. I took a leap of faith and placed mine on the market. Potential buyers showed interest in my home within hours of putting it up for sale. Despite the initial interest, promised offers fell through and I was rejected once again. I became discouraged. Surely, the townhouse would sell fast. Why should they wait for me? Then I felt in my spirit, “That’s your home. Don’t stress about selling your house.” So, quieted my mind and took God at His word. That was my house, no matter how long it took mine to sell. Finally, my house sold for the listed amount. Overjoyed, I resubmitted my offer for the town home. It was accepted! The owner stated that my offer wasn’t the best one, yet they wanted me to have their house. Who says that? They wanted ME to have their house. Talk about the favor of the Lord! He’ll make a way where there seems to be no way.

I’m forever in awe of God’s methods. Though I fret over the time or details, He’s working behind the scenes. Looking back, I can see how each step aligned to bring me to the right place. The only thing required of me was trust and follow Him. Now I’m fully convinced that God will make a way. What He has for me belongs to me.

So, what are you believing God for? Is there an impossible situation in your life? Just know that God has no favorite children. If He did it for me, He’ll do it for you. Just trust Him. He sees the end from the beginning. If you’re faced with rejection, then rest assured He has something better for you. When it all works out, you’ll be amazed at the result.

Be encouraged! 😊
