Sometimes I think we forget that Jesus was fully God and fully man. The Bible says that He was tempted in every point. He experienced life just as we do today. Have you ever found yourself wondering how He felt about certain things? Or if He’d struggle with this or that? During my devotion time, I pondered such a question. Let’s discuss it here!
What if Jesus didn’t like being a carpenter? Countless hours spent in a stuffy barn. Rough callous hands and sore muscles from hard labor. Likely, He didn’t choose the job. After all, He was the eldest son. Taking on the family business was part of His birthright. But Jesus knew His true calling. We get a glimpse of this fact at the temple when Jesus was a young boy. He spoke of being about His Father’s business. Can you imagine the discontent in working a “dead end job”? To know that you’re meant for something greater while being trapped in the mundane routine of daily life. This went on for years! Jesus didn’t step into His ministry until His thirties. The temptation to complain or do poorly at His job was possibly a real issue. Now, we know Jesus overcame all temptation. He was faithful in His current assignment. Each day, He spent time in prayer seeking God’s will and timing. He didn’t discount his preparation season.
Some of us maybe in our own waiting season. It’s so easy to get frustrated or discontent. Especially, when others are receiving the very thing we’re believing God for. But we have a High Priest who truly understands it all; for He went through a waiting season too. We can turn to Him and He will strengthen us in ours. Should we complain and gripe about our circumstances? Certainly not! We are to follow Christ’s example. Remain faithful with what God has placed in front of you. Do it with a willing heart. Then, He will allow you to step into the purpose that He has for you.
-->Here’s an application challenge for you. Ask yourself how Jesus would respond in “your current situation”? Do you think He was tempted in areas that you are? After asking these questions, get still and listen for the answer. Look up scriptures specific to your problem. We can take comfort in knowing that Jesus understands everything that we go through. That makes it easier to come before Him and ask for help. <--
Be encouraged! :)

Scripture References: Hebrews 4:15-16 (NLT) “So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”
